Margie P. Gibson

Greetings Fellow Eagles! I am Margie P. Gibson, and I’m seeking the position of Financial Secretary for the Raleigh-Wake Chapter of NCCU Alumni Association. I am a double Eagle, having graduated in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree and in 2010 with a master’s degree. I am married to my wonderful husband, Victor, and we have three adult children of which one is also an NCCU graduate. I have been blessed with one grandson whom we adore!

I am currently serving in the position of Financial Secretary having been appointed in 2024. Having served as an assistant financial secretary in another organization for six years, I am dedicated to maintaining accurate records, reporting funds collected and ensuring that all financial data is up to date and correct. As a former educator for thirty-five years, I am very detailed and enjoy helping others. In addition, I have also worked on my church’s, (Springfield Missionary Baptist Church) finance committee.

North Carolina Central University is my HBCU and I’m very passionate about giving back. I am HEART trained, have participated in many Freshman and new alumni pinning ceremonies as well as being a part of the D9 alumni committee which plans the D9 Day Party during Homecoming. Serving our alumni chapter in the capacity of financial secretary would be another avenue to give back to our magnificent institution! Eagle Pride Amplified!
