I graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree, concentrating in Mathematics. I have been employed with Schneider Electric for 33 years, where I have built a strong background in planning and procurement. I currently serve as a Business Analyst, where I work with business users to ensure that our software systems effectively meet their needs.
I have been a member of the Raleigh‑Wake Chapter for over 10 years and have served as Chairperson of the Social Committee for most of that time. In this role, I consistently ensured that events were well organized, minimized costs, and reduced waste.
Candidate questions:
1. Why are you seeking this office at this time?
I am seeking the position of Vice President to continue serving our chapter. As a long-time member and former Chair of the Social Committee, I bring experience, commitment, and a strong understanding of our bylaws and chapter rules. I am an active member who consistently attends meetings, and I am willing to speak up and advocate for what is right for our chapter.
2. What are your top three priorities for the chapter during your term?
1.Update and Clarify the Bylaws
We must ensure our bylaws are current and structured to prevent past issues from recurring. This includes clearly defining the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of chapter officers and committee chairs, along with the guidelines they are required to follow. At the same time, we should be careful not to overwhelm the chapter with excessive procedures, SIOPs, or documentation.
2.Establish Clear Chapter Goals
We need a well-defined plan for our chapter’s goals and a clear roadmap to achieve them. Our events, initiatives, and strategies should be intentionally aligned to support those goals.
3.Elevate Trust and Confidence in the Chapter
It is important to rebuild trust among our members. Transparency should not just be a phrase we use, but a value we actively practice through open communication and accountability.
3. How will you increase member engagement, participation, and financial membership within the chapter?
We need to actively listen to our members and understand their needs, then take meaningful steps to ensure those needs are met. Our focus should be not only on attracting new members, but also on retaining our existing ones. We must offer events and activities that appeal to different age groups and lifestyles within our membership. To do this successfully, we also need to be more flexible in how we operate as a chapter.
